Find out how gizmos like wedges, screws and levers help us in our daily lives. Students will be introduced to the concepts of simple machines: the wheel, axle, levers, wedges, inclined planes, screws, and pulleys. They will participate in experiments with pulley systems, investigate the force of friction. They will consider how by combining these simple machines they can create very complex and cool machines such as fast vehicles, walking bugs and robots.
