(Due to the holiday weekend, there will be no class on Monday. Class time will be extended one hour: 1 PM, Tues thru Friday to make for the time.)
Students will explore the basics of tomorrow’s energy technologies and renewable energy. They will be introduced to the fundamentals of renewable energy and physical science with experiments in harnessing energy from solar, wind and electrochemical. They will build a model house and see firsthand how alternative energy applies to the familiar surroundings of home. Pretending they are stranded on an island, they will learn how to use the sun and wind for their very survival. Using their 21st-century model house they will construct a windmill, solar cooker and hot-water tank, hygrometer and more.
