Discovery Centre Science Exploration Camp
is centrally located on the island of New Providence in The Bahamas. We’re moments away from the
Mall of Marathon and the Village Road Shopping Center, on Soldier Road between Woodlawn Cemetery
and Telecommunications Road. Classes are held in a private, fenced-in home surrounded by acres of
lush gardens and playgrounds.
The maximum number of students registered per session, per week, is twenty. The students are divided
into two teams of ten working together to solve various scientific problems. The class Instructor,
Wayne Graves, will oversee both groups for lectures, discussions, experiments, etc. An instructor’s
aide is assigned to each group. Student will be paired up with a buddy or partner for the week.
Together they will discuss and solve the assignments and present their solutions to the class.
The class sessions are very hands-on, with lots of interactive demonstrations. Students will be
working with science kits and have access to literature and laptop computers with Internet access
to research and solve the assigned problem.
Classes start promptly at 9 am and end at 12 noon.
As appropriate, field trips around the topic will be offered. A small transportation/entrance
fee will be required for all field trips.
